The Anti Bark Collars Issue Mild Electric Shocks

There are lots of dog owners who disaprove the use of anti bark collars, considering them to be some inhumane if not even torture devices, but the very same people are subjecting their pets to extremely emotional upset, and even cruelty on some occasions. If it happens to own a dog that loves barking all the day, and especially when your neighbours want to rest, you can be sure that those people will eventually complain, and for the very best reason. Let’s face it; a dog that barks incessantly is enough to drive anyone up the wall. In fact, if your dog continues to disturb your neighbours through its excessive barking, especially at inappropriate times, you will also get into troubles with the law. Most jurisdictions have legislation in place which could force a dog owner to get rid of their dog if it’s continuously causing a disturbance.

For both you and the dog, if you have to give up at him or her, after all those years you have spent together, will be a huge emotional distress. What is really the worst, if the dog continues to disturb people through its barking behaviour, the new owner will get rid of it too. Eventually the barking loving dog will find itself in an animal shelter, and most probably on the receiving end of a lethal injection. Of course the opposants of electric bark collars never thought that this kind of situation may occur if some dog owner gives up at using the device.

There were cases when a dog has been tortured using a shock collar, and scarie movies were made about the subject, and reports have been written on how cruel the use of these collars is. The vast majority of those who wrote such reports claim to be the most devoted dog lovers, but none of them ever did at least some basic research about the anti bark collars. Some of these people even associate the use of the anti bark collars with the way criminals are prepared for the electric chair. Other reports make claims of burn marks, and this in itself shows just how misinformed these people are. Is the small AA batterie able to produce a skin burn?

In truth, electronic Anti Bark Collars should be called “tingle” collars, as opposed to shock collars. Few people have not experienced the static energy effect, and we cannot describe the tiny electric shock produced when we touch something metallic as beeing painful. Yes it gives you a fright, but it’s by no means painful, and it can certainly do you no harm.

Thousands of dogs have escaped euthanasy due to these collars. Practically everyone who has used them consider them to be a real blessing, in that problematic barking almost always stops within just a few days of the collar being put on a dog. Additionally, most Anti Bark Collars will warn the dog before the shock is administered. If the dog continues barking, a mild shock is given, and if it continues, the intensity increases. The static shock we know is barely overpassed by the maximum intensity level of the collar shock. It cannot be more powerful than the two AA batteries allow.

The right nickname of these electronic Anti Bark Collars should be in fact “tingle” collars. The intensity of the electric shock is adjustable. Most Anti Bark Collars firstly issue a warning beep.
