Why Does My Weimaraner Have Spots on His Coat?

I have a grey Weimaraner who is about 10 months old. Recently small darks grey spots have appeared on his coat. They look like the same spots Dalmatians have, but smaller in size. We tried to wash them off but they will not go away. Any suggestion on what to do or what it could be?

Are you sure you bought a purebred Weimaraner?

Sounds like you might have a mixed pup. Hope you didn't pay too much. If you know anyone else the breeder sold puppies to, try and contact them to compare pups.

If you were given papers, do the research on them, to make sure they're authentic.
AKC registered pups should have a pin number on their papers so you can register them online. If your pup is AKC registered go here:
https://www.akc.org/dogreg/index.cfm to check the authenticity of your pin number.

Another option would be to talk with the breeder. They should either 1. Be able to give proof of the parentage.
2. Be knowlegable about diseases or variations that can occur in the breed.
3. be able to show you documentation that this is a purebred puppy and give you a refund if it is not.
Don't rule out small claims court. Drastic i know, but critical to stop these sort of problems from repeating.

    Uhh two possibilities

#1 ) where did you get the dog ? Reptibule kennelregrested breeder ?? ( your safest purchase) although you could still getscammed it ifs a member of the club in bad standing.
a back yard breeder , puppymill?pet store ?? If it was any f the last3 you could have bought a dog from an un truthful individual & it has mixed heritage – mixed breeds are wonderful but ifyou bought the dog as a purebred thats not good .

    2) your dog could have freckles or skin problems – like huiumans dogs can have beautimarks and get skin cancer ,, rashes etc

If your really worried next vet check up get it looked at – usually if its cancerous freckles would be non circular / oval & have splochy non curved edges or spots & change colour

If you go to the AKC website it might give you more information. I think that weimaraner's me change coats at about 10 to 12 months. I think this is called welting. They will shed really bad and then all of the sudden in about a week their coats look totally different and have a different texture.
