What Can I Do to Get Our Weimaraner to Swim?

We have a Weimaraner named Gracie. She is 22 months old and doesn't really like the water in the pool like our Lab does. She's are wonderful dog. We spend time with her at the pool, but she is in and out. We don't want to do to much to where she is afraid of the water. What can I do, as we spend alot of time at the river?

Don't feel bad my lab hates to swim.He always shivers No matter how hot it is outside….some dogs just don't like to swim. Try getting in the pool with him and kinda hold him afloat until he gets used to it.
Just an Idea I'm going to try that this summer with my dogs.

keep putting her in. show her how to get out on her own. maybe after a while she'll feel safe and enjoy it

Does you're dog like chasing sticks, cause if she does then you can throw a stick in the river and see if she will chase after it. I did that with my one and she loves water now.

You could gradually get her used to the pool by taking her in with a leash and letting her swim around till she is comfortable.
