How do I keep my dog from jumping on me or other guests?
He’s seven months old and he’s very sensitive. Hes a Weimardoodle. He’s my best friend but everyone else in my house, they complain about the jumping. I try to tell them he’s a puppy (I know that doesn’t excuse his behavior but still) so does anyone have any suggestion? (He’s going to obedience school July 21st)
all you have to do is push him down and ignore him once he does that. teach him how to sit if he wants to be pet. its actually very simple!

At 7 months he is no longer a young puppy, so this has to be stopped now. Be the boss and enforce no jumping, he can probably tell that you think it is funny, dogs sense things, so change you attitude. Be firm, use a gruff angry voice and when he jumps up say NO very firmly and loudly, turn away and ignore him. If he jumps up on other people, again reprimand and put him on his bed and ignore him. Dogs learn very quickly and it will not take long. If he does not like water, you could always use the spray in the face, but I have found the above method good for my dogs

You have to ignore it. This is how he gets attention from people. Don’t let any of your guests pet him until he is sitting and calm.

Hey, When your dog jumps put your knee up and make sure the dog noes that it is not being good in a ferm strong voice (do not hurt the dog, it will stop the dog from jumping). after the dog relizes that it can not jump because of the knee it will calm down. then tell your dog to sit. then reward the dog (if it sits) with petting (not a treat).

every time he jumps on people hit him or tell him no also lock him in a room

You probably have already taught him to Sit, right? Now have him Sit for everything he wants, including being petted by you and people in your house. Sit for having a ball thrown to him, Sit before you feed or water him, Sit for lots of tiny little treats, Sit to go out the door, Sit for everything. That will get him in the habit of sitting instead of jumping.
Now, you need people’s cooperation here. For the others who live in your house, please ask them to stop rough housing with him and playing games that include jumping up. Usually people do that with puppies and then get mad at them when they get bigger! Keep a leash on him when visitors come to the house so he can’t put his feet on anybody.
Glad you’re going to obedience class with him. He’ll enjoy it and so will you!
No need to punish him for this. It really is very easy to fix. Here’s a good link with a video (click on the one for jumping up):

the worst thing you can do is yell at him or hit him. if you hit him its just going to make it worst. what i find that works is if he looks like he is about to jump, lift one of your legs up so that your knee is pointing out. keep your knee up and after a fews times your dog will not like that feeling of your knee poking him everytime he jumps.
If you hit him or yell at him he is just going to be afriad of you, but if he’s jumping at you with your knee poking out, he’ll just think that its what he’s jumping at and he’ll think it’s his fault, so he’ll stop.
