My Weimaraner Is Getting Little Bumps on the Back of Her Body?

I have been noticing that there are little bumps along the spine of my dog. It is lifting her hair.

Can this be caused by the heat?? What can I do to cure them?

It is most probably a dermatitis which can be provoked by many factors (fleas-normal treatment, and yes heat and sun rays too-shelter, water splash). Does the dog also have an infection of the ear? Does it shake the head more often than usual? Do the bumps itch? The dog tries to scratch or reach with the teeth? Look into the ear or insert carefully a q-tip. If it comes out black then it is a ear infection. If so, treat the ear infection (vet) and the dermatitis will solve itself also. Could also be that the diet of the dog is too rich in proteins. Reduce the amount of meat include some vegs and even fruit. These were some of the problems we had with our dog who also had these bumps and we solved them as told above. Good luck!

It could be a many number of things. If they don’t start to clear up or they get worse, take her to the vet. She may need to be put on medication.

I would suggest asking your vet for advice.
The vet is the best advice you can get for your dog.
    Hope this helps!

Well, if they are raised/hard they could be tumors. You might want to have her checked out from a vet to be sure.. Depending on her age. Usually they are not a problem, but there are instances where it’s cancerous… It’s best to have her get a biopsy of the "bumps" to be on the safe side… We had a vizsla which is closely related to the weimaraner and he had benign tumors but eventually they turned cancerous and he was put to sleep a few yrs. later… I don’t want to alarm you or upset you it’s just best to get the dog checked out and not leave it to chance.. Good luck

It depends what sort of bumps they are. If they’re small and red they could be flea bites which can be cured by drops applied to the back of the neck or a shampoo and I think there are also tablets. If they’re little white bumps like a wart I don’t think there is anything you can do, my dog has these (she’s quite old) and they don’t seem to bother her or it could be a form of eczema which can be treated with creams etc. Whatever it is you should perhaps visit the vet.
