Can a female Weimaraner get pregnant by a male French Bulldog?
On the night of may 18th my boyfriend and i were driving along the backroads by his house and came across a female Weimaraner. We thought she was a deer before we got close and almost hit her. We picked her up and we're trying to convince his dad to let him keep her. But the thing is, his dad has a male french bulldog (with his "manly" parts). Now we were wondering if there was a way for her to get pregnant by him (she's not spayed either). She's only about 6-7months old, and we hope that there is no way possible for her to get pregnant by him.
Also when we found her she was just a bag of bones and REALLY skiddish, like seriously terrified. Personally i would rather give her to one of the Weimaraner Rescues before i gave her back to her owners.
You're in luck!! She is the right age to get spayed!! Then you will never have to worry about her getting pregnant. You could probably find a spay and neuter clinic in your area that would get the dog fixed up nicely. What's great about those places is they can get her all vaccinated too!

Today my mother and I called the vet because we suspected that our beagle was pregnant by a huge chocolate lab. Turns out that she is. The vet said that it is possible for a rottweiler to get a chihuahua pregnant so I don't see why it couldn't be possible in your case.

Chances are there is a way. Even if it is unlikely due to size differences, you don't want to take that chance. Get her spayed and than you'll be safe.

Yes she can get pregnant dogs of different breeds are still dogs and therefore can still reproduce. In this case Weimaraners are a lot bigger than French Bulldogs so without human intervention, ie artificial insemination, this can be a very difficult and often fruitless breeding. But your best bet is to get her spayed ASAP. Not only will it prevent unwanted litters it will greatly cut down the chances of her developing mammary cancer (the rate goes down to almost zero if the spaying is done before the first heat cycle!). It eliminates the chance of developing a serious and potentially fatal infection of the uterus experienced by many mature unspayed animals (pyometra). If cost is an issue many animal shelters offer low cost spay-neuter clinics.

Yes she can get pregnant. and if you don't want her to spay her because she's just the right age. Also, spaying will lower her risk for cancer.

yes. but with a weimaraner you have to watch oout for bloat (thats the unofficial term). thats when they eat to fast and then go and play their stomachs get all twisted up and it can kill them. its verry common in that breed. like boxers are called tumor factories cuz of all the in breeding done over the years.

Your doggie can get pregnant by any breed of dog. When she is in HEAT every dog with-in miles will know it. Get the little angel spayed ( its usually under 100 bucks)… I worked at a doggie daycare and there was a Rott/ Poodle mix that went there…………… Apparantly her mom was to Rott and the Poodle was the daddy And she was Concieved thru a fence… Be very cautious and watch your dog like a HAWK..It only take a few seconds for the male dog to mount her and become " attached" and once that happens its rough to get them apart ( even dangerous for the male and female dog)
get the little darling Spayed… Call your vet first thing tomorrow morning…

Yes, when a female is in heat she and the male will do anything possible to breed. Get her spayed right away and you will have a wonderful pet and not have to worry about puppies. I just rescued a pregnant Weimaraner in December, she had a litter of 8 puppies and let me tell you it's a lot of work. I would never go through that again on purpose. I was lucky to find homes for 8 mixed breed pups, had the female fixed and now I have the best dog in the world. They are very loyal dogs and you will love her. If you decide you can't keep her please get in touch with a local Weimaraner rescue, they will find her a great home.

Did you try to find the owner of the dog? She probably just got loose and wandered off. Someone may be looking for their loving companion. You should have her scanned for a microchip. It is your responsibility to try to find the owners. Having said all that, yes it is possible for a French Bulldog to get her pregnant. I once owned a chihuahua that bred a German Shepherd. How would you know if she has been spayed or not? In the case that she did get pregnant and then the righful owners come and claim their dog, they may be able to sue you for keeping their dog and for the unwanted pregnancy.. The dog also may be a show dog, and if you keep her and have her spayed and then the owners find her, you could be sued for litters the dog would have whelped if she had not been spayed.
